Hey ya'll, first off I want to say thank you for reading my blog and taking an interest in this mission. I want to start this great journey off with Jesus and you by sharing my why for this mission. It may seem wild of me to go on a 9 month long mission trip at 17, but as I explain it, you will see it was all planned out by the Lord in His perfect timing.
My background to why I'm going starts off at 11 after I had freshly come to know the Lord, with a heart wanting others to come to know Him in the same way I had. I wanted (and still want) to share His love everywhere! So fast forward a year to where my heart for missions to other nations all began, in my online 6th grade geography class. It was there I first realized that the places I learned about really weren't that far or made up. Those places were real and so much different than anything I'd ever known as a 12 year old. And I knew going there with and for Jesus wasn't a question in my life. It was and is wild to know that there are people who don't have access or hear about Jesus like we do here in America, or people to come along side them and just love them like Jesus does. So I started learning and seeking the Lord about that desire to go. Now 5 years later, I am so grateful that after much prayer and growth, I said yes to the Lord for the door He has opened for me, to go to places I could not have ever imagined going so soon!
Here is a little update of modern day. Right now I am preparing for 6 COUNTRIES! Praise Jesus! Jamaica, Italy, Nepal, Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia! And as of now i am 52% to my goal Praise God! I only need to be at 50% to launch and then 100% by February! It's been such an amazing faith building experience seeing the Lord come through as a provider for this trip in so many ways. Preparing also looks like doing research and buying the gear I need for all these countries, and taking training courses on how to respect and love other cultures best.
