The past two weeks have actually flown by quicker than I expected, so i haven't been able to write and process it yet. Where to begin. Let's start at drop off. August 28, 2026 the day that I anticipated for months. It was so hard saying goodbye to my beloved ones, but I am definitely grateful I gave the Lord my yes and I obeyed. One thing I feel like He spoke to me about this trip on the way to this camp. Is that I will lack nothing! That can mean a lot of things, but I have definitely seen that I don't lack anything with Him. Through and through, it may look different and feel different than I expected, and I may not be able to describe it well, buuuuuttttt He is definitely not letting me lack anything. Today as I write this my squad is preparing to head to Jamaica tomorrow! Which is amazing, it will be my first time flying and going out of country, so what better way to firstexperience this than to spread the GOSPEL. Anyways back to training camp. It was so hard getting used to a different way of life, and I mean TOTALLY different. All in all though it was a fun adventure. I am literally living out of a backpack now.
SO, a typical day for the first week was devotionals, worship, teaching and training, and then free time. The lessons we were taught were definitely important for preparation on the field. For instance they narrowed down on areas we needed healing and building on if we were going to be able to thrive on the field. We also did scenarios of what life on the other side of the world in a market would look like. Which was really fun! Loud noises, everywhere different smells, and TONS of people! This was the overview of it. What really happened was on the second day ants invaded my tent and did not want to leave. Therefore I slept in my hammock all week! Honestly I really grew to love my hammock though! I had the JOY of the Lord in it though, so I was definitely not miserable and could laugh at it. Although when they invaded my peanut butter I decided to eat them. :) I am so happy that the training part is over though, because I am so ready to get on the field. Next part is domestic ministry. we ended up going to a charming little camp in Adrian, Georgia. They just needed help with little projects around the camp. My team ended up helping with yard work. I was trimming hedges and trees, raking and cutting. Nothing too crazy, happy to help in any way I can. Honestly that week kind of flew by, but they had the best food and people there, so it was amazing! LAST and finally I would love to do prayer requests. I would love it, if you guys would just continue to be praying for the squad and I. Please pray for healing among all the squad, as members were pretty sick a few days ago, and I'm recovering from a little cold. Next, please continue to lift us up for safe travels and effective ministry to and in Jamaica. And finally, please pray for a continued unity and openess among the squad. Your prayers are so effective and meaningful to me and the squad, so thank you for them all! Until next time, Drusilla! :)
